Yay or Nay?

I am looking high-and-low for casual brown real suede or leather tall boots with 16" or larger calf size, preferrably in a low or flat heel since I have a pair of heeled ones from J Crew that I am hoping to find a cobbler to add a zipper to them for me.

This is the best I can find so far, what do you think? Like? Or Keep looking?

I like the suede and the slight wedge heel... not keen on the gold hardware or the multiple buckles, but really need the opinions of uber fashionable blogger ladies out there. :) I really want the Clarks Cami boot, but I can't find it ANYwhere is an 8.5 or 9.

I love these and I think that when you where them, the hardware will fade to background and not stand out so much.

Thanks so much for the feedback Kyla! I think you are right about the hardware, and the only way to know is to try them right? I guess I will order them and see!

I actually really like the buckles - they don't look too edgy or overbearing to my eye at all. The shape of the boot is beautiful!

Thanks Kari! I hope you are right, we'll see when they arrive.

it's a good thing Kyla convinced me to order them with her comment, because looks like they aren't available at all on the site now! Phew!

They're very cute, but if you describe them as "the best I can find right now", then it doesn't sound like your dream boots. You're better off continuing to look.

Trust me, I bought the SAME PAIR of Frye boots 2 years in a row, and returned them both times. I wanted so badly for them to be the ones, and they just weren't. Then I found the ones, and I couldn't be happier. Hang in there!

Kristen, you're right about that. I will have to keep that in mind when they come. Esp. for the price, I shouldn't keep them unless they are perfect. The pair of J Crew boots I bought on ebay are *almost* perfect, but they are pull-on, which I can't get past the meaty part of my calves. I am hoping to find a cobbler that can add a zipper for me for a reasonable cost.

Court, glad you like the too! Too bad I won't have them for this weekend to show you.

Kendra, I just wanted to let you know that Naturalizer is currently having a 20% off sale on all of their boots, and I spotted some wide-calf boots in the mix, too.

These are great boots, Kendra! I think they would work perfectly with your style. Did you decide to get them?
